In a village in northern Iran, in a folkloric setting, after a chemical war all the villagers are forced to wear gas masks. If anyone removes their mask, they will die within five minutes. There is a blind man named Masht-e Masih who owns a dog. One day, his dog is stolen. The village fortune-teller tells him that Siāgalash—a local Gilaki folkloric creature—has taken the dog.
